I am Enikő Kocsis, dancer and choreographer and devotee of folk culture.
Along with my husband, Dezső Fitos, I serve as the artistic director of the Szentendre Dance Ensemble, the Lippentő Dance Ensemble of Győr, and the Fitos Dezső Dance Company. I teach a wide range of age groups, from young children to professional dancers. I have always been extremely interested in the social roles of women, their life stories, and their changing values within a community. I have modeled some of my personae on renowned female characters of folk societies in my productions. My choreographies paying tribute to these prominent women have garnered numerous awards. My dance career started in Győr, continued in the Budapest Dance Ensemble, and eventually I became the soloist at the Honvéd Dance Company.
My accomplishments include the Harangozó Gyula Award, the Europass Dance Award, and the Golden Beads Soloist Award for Life.
