Székely Éva

My name is Éva Székely, I was born in Kispest in 1947. I worked four years in healthcare, but took a big turn and returned to my original calling which had determined my interests since childhood: art and the worlds art helps us discover. In 1976 I received the Young Master of Folk Arts and Crafts award. I held adult and children’s classes at the MOM Cultural Center, which paved the way for the courses and playhouses currently offered there. I teach basket weaving and also do preparation courses for professional basketry exams. I have been a longtime participant at Dancehouse meetings and the Festival of Arts and Crafts, national art camps and professional fairs. I am especially proud of the folk art instructor prize from the ministry of culture, the Várhegyi György award of the Association of Private Schools, the Kövessi Erzsébet and Életfa prizes and the Best Arts and Crafts Instructor award from Heritage House.
