As a son of a blacksmith, I grew up surrounded by metalwork. I met coppersmith and folk artist Szoboszlai Gábor as a young adult, and he taught me everything I know about working with copper. Years later, I managed to buy the coppersmithing workshop he maintained for thirty years, and I continue to develop it. My goal is to preserve the traditions of this folk craft, and I strive to do so by collecting and studying the works of old masters. I am happy to show my collection to anyone interested in coppersmithing.
My products, which are directly related to the pastoral lifestyle of the Hortobágy region, have been reviewed by the Folk Arts Council for fifteen years. I produce old-time shepherds’ tools, axes, bells and brass buckles, carrying out each step of the process myself.
I have participated in numerous exhibitions, both in Hungary and abroad. I sell my products at markets, wearing traditional shepherd garb in order to evoke the atmosphere of times past.
